Ice Storm
Ice storms are incredibly beautiful, and yet at the same time, frighteningly destructive. If the sun comes out after an ice storm, the sparkling diamond effect is extraordinary. After our last ice storm, the sun did not shine but the world was still transformed. The town was virtually shut down and we spent a few strange days in a dark, cold house warming ourselves by the fireplace. Over time the ice melted and the broken tree branches were taken away, but the memory of the vulnerable wonder of our changed world remains.
