Captured Again
Chapter Sixteen

On the bottom of the hill, the Gubazah Monster was desperately trying to get away from the three foxes. They were biting the fur on this leg and were determined not to let go of him. When the other animals surrounded him, he fell down in despair. The animals began shouting.
"We got you now!"
"You will not be able to destroy our dams ever again!"
"We are going to put you in a cage!"
The animals tied him up with ropes. He did not put up a fight as they pulled him up and started leading him away from the hill. As he was walking, he saw Chips and Charley hopping along with the other animals. He shook his head and said nothing.
They led him to a big cage made from thick logs that were cut from forest trees. They put him inside and surrounded the cage in order to taunt him.
"Wait a minute," yelled Charley. "How do you know he is guilty?"
"Be quiet, bug!" shouted a woodchuck.
"What evidence do you have?" Charley demanded.
The Gubazah Monster laughed at Charley, "Why are you trying to help me little bug? I did ruin the dams. Keep me in this cage if you must. Just leave me alone."
The animals began to yell again. The Gubazah Monster turned his back on them all.
Charley timidly hopped away, and his friends followed him. When they were far from the noise, Charley sat down and sighed.
"I thought he truly was innocent. What does someone like him have to do with the fountain. Nothing makes sense."
"Maybe it is not supposed to, " William commented. "I don't think you should help him if he is guilty. He was wrong and deserves to be punished."
"Still maybe we should at least try to talk with him," Charley said.
"If he will talk, " warned William.
Rhonda said, "Well, at least now we will know where to find him."
They heard a roar coming from the cage and they each shuddered. Mysteries were exciting, but they all wondered how close they should try to get to such a miserable, angry monster.
